![]() It makes sense, it's interesting and it gives a taste of history without taking over the present story. Even if some of the shockers are a bit unrealistic, many of the issues the girls have are pretty true to life. The highlight of this story line is the completely unexpected twists and turns that actually make the entire plot more cohesive. The game has just enough of a creepy aura without ever being scary. ![]() ![]() Many players linked this game to Curse of Blackmoor Manor and rightfully so-the centuries old school deeply rooted in tradition is quite akin to the age old secrets in a family estate. (On a side note, I am a mentor for 13-year-old girls through a service program and I actually recommend this game to my group since it does such a great job of showing how hurtful gossip can be.) Also, setting the game in an all-girls school brings to the surface issues that every girl has dealt with at some point in her life. Most Adventure games have a predominately male cast of suspects and it can be discouraging for female players to have Nancy as the only depiction of a strong young woman. Of course, HI isn't exclusively for female-kind, but girls are the target audience. This is a great game premise because it composites some of the best aspects of past Adventure games while building on Her Interactive's dedication to creating games for girls. ![]() Nancy must go undercover as a transfer student to unravel tangled webs of gossip and secrets to discover who really is the Black Cat. Valedictorian candidates at a prestigious all-girls boarding school in New England are getting anonymous threatening notes, followed by malicious (though not fatal) accidents. ![]()
